a few words about us
Keystone Construction Company
Keystone Construction Company was founded by Bill Hardie and John Hardie in 1987 with a simple goal: to simplify the design and construction process while delivering better buildings for their clients.
From the beginning, Keystone has specialized in design-build commercial construction, bringing planning, design, budgeting, and construction together under one team. This integrated approach allows projects to move efficiently from concept to completion while maintaining cost certainty and exceptional quality.
Bill Hardie’s background in architecture, civil engineering, and construction, combined with John Hardie’s experience in nationwide commercial construction and real estate development, established the foundation for Keystone’s proven process.
Keystone’s design-build system was later recognized by Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design as a case study on “How to Do Design-Build Right.”
In 2025, Keystone was acquired by Otter & Company to strengthen its capabilities and expand market opportunities. Today, Bill Hardie and Mike Kaiman continue to provide leadership, guiding the company’s next phase of growth.
Today, Keystone focuses on industrial construction, sports and entertainment facilities, multi-family developments, and complex special projects, delivering efficient, high-quality buildings for clients throughout the region.
